Description
Skin Astringent No. 5 is an energizing astringent containing 5.0% salicylic acid, tea tree oil and menthol for the treatment of moderate acne conditions.

This product is recommended for: Problematic, acne prone skin.

Directions
Saturate a cotton or gauze pad and gently wipe over affected skin. Use once daily or as directed. If excessive dryness or peeling occurs, reduce application to every other day.

Key Ingredients
Salicylic Acid: Salicylic acid works by softening keratin, a protein that forms part of the skin structure. This helps to loosen dry scaly skin, making it easier to remove. When salicylic acid is used in combination with other ingredients, it takes off the upper layer of skin allowing the additional medicines to penetrate more effectively. In acne, salicylic acid helps slow down shedding of the cells inside the follicles, preventing clogging. Salicylic acid also helps break down blackheads and whiteheads.

Tea Tree Oil: Known for its antiseptic and skin healing properties. It promotes strong healing for the relief of symptoms such as acne and other skin infections. Derived from the Aus- tralian tea tree, the oil is a powerful germicide, fungicide and antiseptic.

Arnica Extract: Credited with a wide variety of properties including anti-inflammatory, circulation stimulating, healing, antimicrobial, and anti-irritant. Promotes the removal of toxins from the skin and has a high vitamin E content that can help the skin regain elasticity, clarity and suppleness.

Witch Hazel Extract: An extract derived from the bark and dried leaves of the shrub with astringent properties; helps to remove excess surface skin oils.

Menthol: A natural cooling agent, derived from mint oils. Anti-inflammatory and anti-itching to the skin. Imparts a cool, fresh and clean feeling to the skin.
